We are lucky to have our own Nursery Teachers who work closely with our children and their key workers to ensure that children make good progress within all aspects of their development in readiness for school. Taking care of animals provides our children with a great sense of responsibility whilst developing empathy and social skills. Caring for animals can be a very calming and relaxing experience for children as well as an opportunity to assess risk. This provides many vital learning opportunities and skills that supports children's transition to school and adult life. Children name, feed and care for nursery pets. At Spylaw Road our children care for goldfish, and at South Gillsland our children care for a pet hamster.

Taking part in fundraising activities helps children to learn about others that are less fortunate than themselves and understand how we can help them. Fundraising events are good fun and are a great way to get children, families and communities together. Our Nursery fundraises for a variety of causes but will consistently raise funds for Children In Need and SANDS.
